The Global Ageing Network has been awarded Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. We actively participate in discussions about the need for a Convention on the Rights of Older People.

in Action
Global Ageing Network participated in the United Nation’s 13th Open Ended Working Group meeting in April 2025 to continue deliberations about the establishment of a UN Convention on the Rights of Older People (UN OEWGA). We are active members of the NGO Committee on Ageing and support their board agenda.
