The Global Ageing Network held a Home Care Innovations webinar on July 26 to discuss the recently-released report by Enkindle Consulting, “Top Home Care Innovations in Aged Care.” Panelists from Enkindle Consulting, Jennene Buckley, director, and Anastasia Ward, research and analytics strategist, showcased a few of the latest innovations and case studies from global aged care providers.

The report includes exemplars and case studies from home care providers, industry suppliers, entrepreneurs, health care practitioners, and individuals driving transformation and change across the sector to improve the lives of older persons worldwide. The publication has been developed to:

• Spark ideas and creativity for health and aged care leaders worldwide.
• Provide opportunities to network with international stakeholders.
• Create a connected community of progressive thinkers, thought leaders, and innovators in the health and aged care industry.
• Celebrate new innovations in aged care by sharing case studies of various aged care services and models.

Joseph Musgrave, CEO of Home Care and Community Ireland (HCCI), remarked that all innovations cannot be addressed without first ensuring staff are well-paid staff. “We absolutely need a workforce to be able to implement any innovations. With new measures passed, no home care workers in Ireland will be paid less than a living wage (estimated to be about 60% of area median income),” said Musgrave, who also shared steps like micro-credentialing are being explored to help up-skill the home care workforce.
