About the Presenters
Emi Kiyota, Ph.D. is an Environmental Gerontologist and organizational culture change specialist, currently serves as a consultant to implement person-centered care practice in long term care facilities. Emi founded Ibasho, embodying the Japanese concept of “a place where one feels at home being oneself” with a group of like-minded colleagues. Emi received her Ph.D. in Architecture (Environment and Behavior Studies) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as her Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Horticulture Therapy from Kansas State University.
As Marketing director of inforesidencias.com, Anna Cebrián is responsible for providing unbiased information and guidance to the users it serves, families searching for caregiving services for an elder. This can be assisted living, nursing homes, hourly adult care or other types of care.Anna has a master’s degree in Business by the University of Nancy (France), a PDD by IESE Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration by the University of Barcelona. She also holds the Eden Alternative Certification and a Postgraduate in Nursing homes management.
Femada serves as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the planning and implementation of services to the elderly. Her role at the organization is also to provide representation at local and provincial forums with a view to lobbying and advocating for rights of the elderly. Her social work and Bachelor of Commerce Training sets the foundation to create a balance between understanding the need and implementing sustainable models of care and support. she has been involved in training and development of internal staff as well as other stakeholders in this field in the Durban area. She has also presented papers locally as well as at international conferences.
Vic Rayner is Chief Executive of the National Care Forum, joining the organisation in 2016. The NCF is the strongest voice for the not-for-profit care sector and works with its membership to drive forward the delivery of quality, person-centred care. Vic is the chair of the government Strategic Advisory Forum on the social care workforce, co-chair of the National Social Care Advisory Group on social care and technology and sits on a range of government and national specialist groups with a focus on the social care workforce, digital transformation, new models of care and regulation. Vic is a trustee of Hestia a leading London charity providing care and support and the Care Workers Charity and is a Director of the Global Ageing Network. Vic has an MBA (Distinction), MA and BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021.
David Stevens serves as the Managing Director at Standardswise International Australia. His background in Psychology and Anthropology has led to a lifelong interest in the areas of Senior Living and Ageing, Wellness, Human Services, Quality Management, Acute and Primary Health Care, Mental Health and Disability Support. David has worked closely with government and organisations within Australia and Internationally on standards, service development, quality, risk, and governance exemplary practice.
