As a key element of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing, the World Health Organization (WHO) has convened a Global Network on Long Term Care and the Global Ageing Network is a member of this WHO–sponsored group.
Katie Smith Sloan, Executive Director for the Global Ageing Network, along with many other leaders from across the world, joined a recent WHO Network gathering to review and comment on a proposed “Theory of Change” and to begin mapping priorities for further exploration. Among the potential priorities are workforce, financing, standards and guidance, innovation and social protection.
Workgroups will convene to further refine the priorities and related strategies. We will continue to share updates about the workgroup progress and initiatives to improve access to long-term care.
