“Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society.”
October 1, 2017 is International Day of Older Persons.
This year’s theme is “Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society”.
The 2017 theme will explore effective means of promoting and strengthening the participation of older persons in various aspects of social, cultural, economic and civic and political life.
Are you harnessing the talents, expertise and wisdom of older adults in your community? Join us as we celebrate our elders and the wealth of knowledge and talents they provide as a means to uplift, support and sustain communities all over the world. Share with us stories of elders your own community and be sure to showcase them on your (and our) social feeds as we celebrate them on October 1st!
For more information about this year’s theme and what you can do to celebrate and honor elders in your community, visit the official International Day of Older Persons’ website.
